JP Centre/South Main Streets will be initiating First Thursdays 2006
on May 4th, from 6 to 8 p.m…..Thanks to a matching grant from the Massachusetts Cultural Council, this year’s series will include music, poetry, film, and dance as well as art exhibits throughout the Centre/South business district. Featured performances on May 4th present a preview of
the Wake-Up-The Earth Festival from Spontaneous Celebrations, including the Pan United Steel Band (First Baptist Church tent), gypsy music by Incus
(JP Licks patio), klezmer and circus music by Stick and Rag Village Orchestra (Curtis Hall lawn), hip-hop dance by the Beantown Society (South Street Mall, across from Harvest and Fiore’s Bakery)…plus art exhibits in 25 businesses up and down Centre and South Streets.

Call for volunteers: To hand out First Thursdays fliers at Stoneybrook and Green Street subway stations on May 3, a.m. and p.m., and to help prepare balloons and signs for exhibit sites, May 4 morning and afternoon shifts.
