JPNDC’s Annual Meeting and 30th Anniversary Celebration will take place on Saturday, June 2, beginning at 12:00 PM at the Blessed Sacrament Church, 365 Centre Street, in Hyde Square.
Join us as we celebrate 30 years of working together to build a stronger community in Jamaica Plain.
The day begins with a luncheon, business meeting and awards ceremony inside the former church building at 12:00 noon.
At 2:00 PM the activities continue outside with live music by Manguito, cultural presentations, children’s activities. Come add to our interactive 30-year timeline. Enjoy ice cream and pretzels donated by Boston Pretzel and JP Licks.
The events are free and everyone is welcome. Come for part of the day or stay for the entire afternoon. Together, we have a lot to celebrate as we continue to work to make JP a place where people from all backgrounds can live, work, and pursue their dreams.

HSTF Annual Meeting - Please Join Us!
The Annual Meeting is an opportunity to reflect on our accomplishments, celebrate with our community members, supporters and friends, and look forward to new challenges and possibilities. The HSTF Annual Meeting will be held this year on May 31st from 5:30 – 8 pm under a tent (rain or shine) on the campus of the Blessed Sacrament Church at 365 Centre Street in Jamaica Plain. There will be food, music, and fun for all ages. The program will begin at 6:30 and will include: dance and spoken word performances by our talented youth; awards for exemplary community action by our partners State Representative Jeffrey Sanchez, Sociedad Latina, and the Jamaica Plain Neighborhood Development Corporation; and of course, the election of HSTF’s Board of Directors. Beginning at 5:30 we will offer tours of the Cheverus Building, which will soon be home to HSTF’s expanding programs. We hope to see you there!

Franklin Park Family Bird Walk and Movie Night - Friday, June 1st - Bird walk at 6:00 pm meet at the Franklin Park Golf Clubhouse; return to the Clubhouse in time for 7:30 pm movie Winged Migration, spectacular and mesmerizing footage of birds in flight around the world. Boston film critic, lecturer, poet, and nature lover, Peg Aloi, will be on hand to answer questions about how the film was made. “The Poetic Landscape” - a poetry tour of Franklin Park - Saturday, June 2nd at 4:00 pm - meet at the Resting Place, the picnic area in front of the Shattuck Hospital. Read poems specially chosen for the park’s historical and natural sites. Led by Mark Swartz, National Olmsted Historic Site ranger and Christine Poff, Director of the Franklin Park Coalition. Joseph Porcelli here, Kate and I need your help finding a new place to live.You can help us by emailing us or calling 857-222-4420 with rentals you have, know about, and by spreading the word that we are looking.
We are looking for a 1 or 2 bedroom apt in JP (of course) that is dog friendly. The apartment and building must be well kept, have laundry, and yard (for Jenny to sit in the sun). We are available to move in immediately.
